Hilton Head Island, SC

It's been so long since I've posted anything!  It's the middle of summer and I need to catch up on my pictures.  Here are some great photos from our Hilton Head vacation in May with the McKnights.  It was wonderful to be able to spend a week near them, and to let our kids play together.  The weather was amazing with no rain.  Hilton Head is a beautiful beach to go to, one that I hope we get to return to soon!  It's definitely our favorite.

All of us - including the McKnights' friend Barney, but where is John?

I'm pretty sure this is Emma

This will be Susan's "before the vegan diet" picture

The kids loved riding the elevator.  They fought every single time over who would push which button. Why can't there be more buttons in the elevator that we have to push?  Like 3?

Our last night - we took a walk on the beach.  Luke wanted to race with Joel, but apparently Joel had already raced with Amelia and Luke had lost his chance.  Because he didn't want to race.  But then he threw himself on the sand, started screaming and throwing a fit that he DID want to race.  We endured this behavior the entire walk back.  It was a very long walk.  I also did not appreciate all of the people who STARED at us like they've never seen a kid throw a fit before.  I convinced Luke to race with me but that wasn't enough and the screaming continued.  We had promised the kids ice cream, but Joel took Luke back to the condo and put him to bed.  When he realized that he wasn't getting ice cream, he was very upset. But he fell asleep almost instantly because he was so tired :)

Camping

For Luke's 6th birthday he didn't want a party.  Instead, he wanted to go camping with Joel.  So they went to Claytor Lake for some fishing, hiking, and camping!  The night went well except for the fact that it was in the 40s.  Luke liked fishing until he got the hook stuck in his arm.  And, their original plan was to catch fish to eat for dinner but they had to walk to the store and get some hot dogs instead.  They were yummy along with some smores!  (Some of the pics look strange and wide, I'm not sure why that happened)

Kitty stopped by to see what was going on.
